A proper termite inspection is important in preventing termite infestation of your home. The commonest termites responsible for damage to homes are some species of subterranean termites. Subterranean termites normally hide away from light and are not seen much. But the damage they can do is real.

Periodically, you should inspect your home for termites. Once a few months is adequate.A pest control company normally sends over a guy who knocks on the wood in your home and tries to determine any parts which are hollow (termites consume wood by chewing them from within). However, if you spot any termites in your surroundings, you may proceed to contact the pest control company immediately, as subterranean termites can cause damage pretty fast. Here’s more on how to identify termites.

A typical inspection is not cheap, but is a small price to pay for keeping your home safe. Bear in mind that once significant damage has occurred, repair is often very difficult if not impossible.
