Get fit faster with isometric exercise

Imagine getting a full-body workout in under 5 minutes. That’s the promise of the new isometric exercise machines, like the 1-Rep Gym.

How does it work? By putting your body in the strongest position for an exercise, and exerting as much force as you can against an immovable object, you’re giving your muscles maximum growth-inducing stimulation. And, you can only hold that kind of contraction for a few seconds, tops.

The new isometric gym equipment has built-in force sensors, so you can see how much you’ve “lifted”… and your goal for each workout is to lift more than you did the last time. This creates “progressive overload” which, basically, tells your body to get stronger for the next time you’ll be lifting.
